4:56 p.m., March 16, 2009----The Healthy U Employee Wellness Program invites all University of Delaware faculty and staff to register now for "Step into Spring," an eight-week, self-monitored pedometer program that will run from April 6 to May 31.
The cost is 20 Wellness Dollars and all participants will receive a step counting pedometer, an activity log to track their progress, weekly e-mails with activity tips, a weekly trivia contest with a chance to win prizes, an invitation to join group walks led by Wellness Center staff and a free 5K training program for walkers and joggers for the University of Delaware's Blue Hen 5K run/walk on June 6.
Employees may participate as individuals or form teams of 3-10 co-workers. Participants will choose one of several activity goals, based on their current fitness level, and work to increase the number of daily steps they complete over the course of the program.
Employees registering by Friday, March 20, will be entered in an "early bird" drawing to win a gift certificate for dinner for two at the Back Burner restaurant in Hockessin. The regular registration deadline is Friday, March 27.
