Police seek assistance in identifying suspects in Washington House burglary

3:55 p.m., June 1, 2009----Newark Police are seeking help in identifying two men and a woman in conjunction with a report of burglary, theft and vandalism that occurred around 2 a.m., Sunday, May 31, at the Washington House Condominiums on East Main Street in Newark.

According to police, the three forced open a security door and gained access to several areas of the building, which is partially occupied with some units still under construction.

While in the building, the three suspects damaged the interior of two condos that were under construction and threw items off the fourth floor balconies. They then broke into a storage area, where personal items were removed. They also damaged other areas throughout the building by breaking fire control apparatuses, emptying fire extinguishers, damaging light fixtures and removing signs from walls and doors. The amount of damage is estimated to be approximately $640, and the total amount of stolen property is estimated to be approximately $940.

All three suspects can be seen on the building's video surveillance system.
