In this scam, which targets the older population, a telephone caller pretends to be the victim's grandchild, using the name of the actual grandchild, and claims to be somewhere away from home and in need of money for some type of emergency, such as bail, hospital visit, car trouble. The caller instructs the subject to wire the money immediately.
