8:53 a.m., June 19, 2009----Delaware's coastal resources -- treasures such as world-class beaches and communities rich with maritime heritage -- face challenges from climate change and growth.
Learn how Delaware Sea Grant and its many partners are working to confront those issues in its Reporter newsletter. The publication's 2009 theme, “Climate Change and Our Coast,” puts the spotlight on specific issues facing the coast with articles on water quality and fisheries, marshes and coastal communities, coastal technology, and alternative energy.
Published annually by the University of Delaware's College of Earth, Ocean, and Environment (CEOE), Reporter encourages Delawareans to become informed, get involved, and stay connected through the various programs of the college and Sea Grant. It also highlights community outreach programs such as Delaware Sea Grant's oyster gardening and water monitoring programs.
The annual report will be distributed to the public as an insert in The News Journal on Sunday, June 21. Also, the publication is available online.
Download Reporter today to learn more and to complete the readership survey. Readers who submit the survey by July 22 will be entered in a drawing for Delaware Sea Grant's Coastal Prize Package, which includes a stay at UD's Virden Center in Lewes, Del., a Coast Day Crab Cake Cookbook, and much more.
