“Our goal for onboarding is to effectively integrate new employees into UD's organizational culture with less stress, making them feel welcome and a part of the UD community,” J.J. Davis, vice president for administration, said.

The new onboarding Web site and forms went into effect June 30.

Human Resources (HR) will now be the central office for onboarding all benefited employees, postdoctoral fellows and graduate students on contract. HR liaisons will be responsible for onboarding miscellaneous wage, supplemental faculty and professionals, undergraduate students, graduate student labor (not on contract) and nonpaid employees.

All new employees will go to the onboarding Web site where they will be able to complete online forms, starting with the Quick Bio, as well as the Employee Demographic Data (EDD) form, the W-4 and the Direct Deposit Form. They also will be able to read the Bayh-Dole Memo, which addresses current university technology transfer practices, and print a copy of the Bayh-Dole Agreement to Assign for signature. New employees also can access the optional Pay Additional Tax form.

HR and HR liaisons will complete the new HR Job Data (New Hire JED) form. Most HR liaisons attended training sessions on the new process earlier in June, and another training session will be available in the near future. Additional information for HR liaisons is available online.

Anyone with questions about the onboarding process should write to [hr-onboard@udel.edu.].
