1:41 p.m., June 1, 2009----Despite relocation and rain, Walk MS: University of Delaware 2009 raised approximately $10,000, according to organizers at the Delaware Chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.
The May 3 walk was moved from the UD campus in Newark to the Delcastle Recreation Center because of the H1N1 flu, and the morning of the event participants were faced with relentless rain.
Nonetheless, 75 participants braved the elements and participated in the walk.
The funds raised are earmarked for national MS research and the programs and services needed by more than 1,500 Delawareans with MS and their families.
