8:14 a.m., June 10, 2009----Newark Police are investigating the kidnapping of a 13-year-old female that occurred around 5:13 p.m., Tuesday, June 9, in the parking lot of the Pathmark in the College Square Shopping Center.

The victim was walking through the rear of the parking lot when she was approached by a man driving a black four-door sedan with heavily tinted windows and chrome rims, displaying an unknown Pennsylvania registration. He grabbed her and forced her inside the vehicle and left the area. While driving, he attempted to sexually assault the victim. She was able to flee the vehicle unharmed and contacted police. She sustained minor injury and no medical treatment was required.

The suspect is described at a Hispanic male, 5 feet 6 inches tall, 20 to 25 years of age, with a thin build, short spiked hair, a tattoo under his left eye and facial acne.
