Four girls, ages 10 and 11, were walking in the area when a car pulled to the curb ahead of them. The driver remained inside staring at the girls as they walked. When they passed the stopped car, they could see the driver had his pants lowered and was exposing his genitals. The girls continued walking, and the car drove off.

The same car was seen in the neighborhood by one of the girls around 5 p.m., Tuesday, June 16, which prompted a call to Newark Police. Investigation revealed that the car has been seen driving slowly through the neighborhood on other days, including June 15, Jun14 and on or around June 2.

The suspect is described as a white male in his late 20s to early 30s, with short brown hair and an average build. His left arm is heavily tattooed, particularly at the bicep. The car is a silver, four-door Volvo.

Parents are urged to warn their children about talking to strangers and approaching cars occupied by persons they do not know.

Anyone seeing the car and/or its driver should immediately call 911. Information pertaining to this incident should be reported to Detective Nick Sansone at (302) 366-7110, ext. 135, or by sending e-mail to [Nick.Sansone@cj.state.de.us]. Information can be reported anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-TIP-3333, where a reward may be available. Tips may be texted to 302NPD with tip sent to TIP411.
