1:33 p.m., June 22, 2009----Occupational Health and Safety is changing its name to Environmental Health and Safety, effective July 1, to reflect more accurately the office's function, according to Skip Homiak, executive director of campus and public safety.
Many of the unit's programs are designed specifically to protect the environment, addressing regulations issued by such agencies as the Environmental Protection Agency and the Delaware Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control.
The mission of the Environmental Health and Safety remains the same: to maintain a safe and healthful campus environment in concert with the University's mission, while ensuring compliance with applicable federal, state and local regulations.
