10:06 a.m., Jan. 29, 2009----The University of Delaware Library invites UD students, faculty and staff to attend workshops being offered during the spring semester on RefWorks, a web-based research management system provided by the library.

RefWorks is used to create and manage references, export references from databases and generate bibliographies or reference lists. RefWorks is available from the Library Databases Web page.

Two levels of workshops are offered.

“Introduction to RefWorks” covers setting up an account, managing references, exporting references from research databases, and creating bibliographies and other basic features.

“RefWorks Advanced” covers exporting references from research databases, organizing references, using the Write-N-Cite feature to insert in-text citations, editing in-text citations, and creating bibliographies or reference lists.

“Introduction to RefWorks” workshops will be offered on:

Thursday, Feb. 19, from 2-3:30 p.m.

Tuesday, March 10, from 2-3:30 p.m.

“RefWorks Advanced” workshops will be offered on:

Thursday, March 5, from 11a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Thursday, April 9, from 2-3:30 p.m.

Additionally, the library will offer “Citing Using APA Style and RefWorks” which covers using the APA citation style in conjunction with RefWorks. This workshop will be offered Thursday, March 26, from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

The workshops will be held in the in the Library Instruction Room (Room 116A), Morris Library, First Floor. Seating is limited and registration is required.
