Published by SLACK, Inc. of Thorofare, N.J., the journal made its debut this month.

The stated mission of the journal is to provide a forum for the dissemination of contemporary athletic training and sports health care information and guidance to clinicians involved in a variety of allied health professions.

Content consists of peer-reviewed articles including original research, case reviews, evidence-based documents, clinical columns, and literature reviews from a variety of sports health care disciplines.

Articles in the first issue address topics ranging from the diagnosis of stress fractures in runners to pediatric brain injury.

“My role as editor provides me with another opportunity to give back to the profession that has meant so much to me over the past 35 years,” Kaminski wrote in his initial editorial, where he points out that his interest in the field began when he was in middle school.

In addition to his faculty appointment, Kaminski is director of Athletic Training Education at UD and an affiliate in the Biomechanics and Movement Science (BIOMS) Program.
