12:47 p.m., Feb. 16, 2009----The University of Delaware Library will present a series of workshops for UD faculty, staff, and researchers on research funding during the spring semester.
The workshops will focus on two library databases, Foundation Directory Online and COS Funding Opportunities, which faculty, staff and graduate students can use to identify potential funding resources, such as grants from private foundations, corporations and public charities.
The workshops will cover strategies for searching the databases, procedures for using alerting services and RSS feeds and locating additional grant information on the Internet.
Both databases are available on the library databases Web page. Each workshop in this series is tailored to meet the needs of specific communities of scholarship:
The workshop on Tuesday, March 31, from 10 to 11:30 a.m., will focus on research funding for arts and humanities scholars.
The workshop on Wednesday, April 1, from 10 to 11:30 a.m., is tailored to meet the needs of those within the social science disciplines.
The workshop on Thursday, April 2, from 10 to 11:30 a.m., will focus on funding for the sciences.
Thr workshop series is co-sponsored by the University of Delaware Research Office. The presenter will be Carol Rudisell, librarian in the reference department.
The workshops will be held in the Library Instructions Room (Room 116A) of the Morris Library, and are open to UD students, faculty and staff.
Seating is limited and registration is required. Interested individuals can register online at this Web page.
