The ceremony will be held from 7-8 p.m., Monday, May 4, in the Ewing Room of the Perkins Student Center.

The Town & Gown award recognizes outstanding University student volunteers who have served the Newark community.

Three outstanding students will be selected from the group of nominees based on the information submitted by their nominators: supervisors and staff of the nonprofit organizations for which they have been volunteering. The nominating information of the top three individuals will then be provided to Student Life staff members who will vote for the most outstanding volunteer.

The student with the most votes will also be recognized as the recipient of the Nikki Woolf Volunteer of the Year Award.

The Nikki Woolf Volunteer of the Year Award was begun in 1993 by Dennis and Patsy Woolf to honor the memory of their daughter, who was an active volunteer and student at University of Delaware. She was killed in a tragic traffic accident on I-95.

The Woolfs created this award because of Nikki's commitment to helping others.

A reception will follow the presentations.
