Donations to get faculty and staff locked up will be accepted throughout the week at the Trabant University Center and the Perkins Student Center. The event features Scott Douglass, UD executive vice president; Matt Lenno, assistant director of student centers and fraternity and sorority life adviser; Susan Murphy, instructor of operations management in the Department of Business Administration; and Burnaby Munson, C. Eugene Bennett Chair of Chemistry.

Those arrested will be held in a jail cell on the Trabant University Center patio on Friday, April 17, until they have raised enough bail to be released. All proceeds benefit the American Cancer Society.

Relay For Life offers everyone in the UD community an opportunity to participate in the fight against cancer, with teams of people scheduled to camp out at the Delaware Field House and take turns walking or running around an indoor and outdoor track from 3 p.m., Saturday, May 2, to 6 a.m., Sunday, May 3.

Each team is asked to have a representative on the track at all times during the event. Relay is an overnight event, up to 24 hours in length.

Teams of people from all walks of life have fun while raising much-needed funds to fight cancer and raise awareness of cancer prevention and treatment.

Relay For Life is a life-changing event that brings together more than 3.5 million people to:

* Celebrate the lives of those who have battled cancer. The strength of survivors inspires others to continue to fight.

* Remember loved ones lost to the disease. At Relay, people who have walked alongside people battling cancer can grieve and find healing.

* Fight back. Many people participate because in Relay for Life because they have been touched by cancer and desperately want to put an end to the disease.
