A slight hearing problem, an honor-bound pirate, some empathetic policeman, and the very model of a modern major general all come together in Gilbert and Sullivan's swashbuckling comedy.

This production marks a number of firsts for UD Opera Theatre. Robert Brandt, instructor of music, makes his directorial debut in The Pirates of Penzance and Krystal Rickard, instructor of music, will make her UD Opera Theatre debut as choreographer and chorus master. Brian Stone, assistant professor of music, will conduct.
