9:02 a.m., April 21, 2009----University of Delaware student media organizations will come together for a special Media Day event from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on the patio of the Trabant University Center.

The organizations that are involved are the Student Television Network (STN), the Review, WVUD, aUDio Magazine, Deconstuction, UDress, The Main Street Journal, Reel Productions Film Society, and StuArt.

“We wanted to use this event to make sure that students on campus know the different media outlets that they could turn to for information. It is also an opportunity for students to sign up for these different organizations in the fall if they want to join,” said Julie Wigley, president of STN.

She said there will be a wide variety of interactive activities for students who attend. For example, WVUD and aUDio will allow students to try being DJs, UDress will have a photo shoot, Deconstuction will play a giant game of Taboo, and STN will offer a chance for people to try being on camera.

“As media organizations, this event has given us the chance to collaborate with each other, and learn what and how we do certain things,” Wigley said. “I know that the different magazines have talked about the ways they get things published, and the TV station and the Review have talked about collaborating and putting video on the Review's Web site.”
