9:28 a.m., April 15, 2009----Performance appraisals for University of Delaware professional and salaried staff are due in the Office of Human Resources by Thursday, April 30.

In February and March, Human Resources rolled out an updated performance appraisal system and conducted training workshops in which many supervisors and employees participated. Enhancements to this year's appraisal form include a graphic representation of the performance management cycle and the critical components; incorporation of the goal-setting process; expansion of the performance rating scale; and a streamlined single document to enable all staff to be evaluated.

“I am excited about the positive response and important feedback we have received from supervisors and employees about this year's appraisal process,” said J.J. Davis, vice president of administration. “Performance evaluation is a process of continuous improvement and our Human Resources staff is already engaged in discussion of potential enhancements for next year.”
