Change page orientation to landscape and then insert page numbers
on the left margin

Set the default paragraph spacing
Set the Font Options
From the Format menu, select Font.
In the Font window, click the Font tab.
Set the Font to Times New Roman.
Set the Font Style to Regular.
Set the Font Size to 12.
Click the Default button at the lower left. Click Yes when asked “Do you want to change….”.

Show Paragraph Marks
Paragraph marks should be visible when applying styles.
Each time you press ENTER, Microsoft Word inserts a paragraph mark: ¶.
This mark indicates the end of one paragraph. If the style is not changed, then the style will continue into the next paragraph.

To make paragraph marks visible, click the paragraph mark icon on the Standard Shortcut Toolbar to display

Word 2007 & 2010: Show the Styles and Formatting Pane
Click the Styles dialogue icon in the lower right of the Styles group.

The Styles Pane opens as a floating panel. Click and drag off to the right of the window to lock it into place on the right edge the Word window. Keep this pane open as you work. |

Click the Styles and Formatting icon.
The Styles and Formatting Task Pane opens at the right of the document.
Keep this pane open as you work.

As you create your document, choose the headings, the table captions, the figure captions, quotes, etc. from this pane.
