It happens to all of us. We get lazy
about making backup copies of our work until a disaster strikes. All it
takes is one disaster and you, too, will become a convert.
-
A professor loses her last copy of her class
syllabus and can't find the only disk with the electronic file.
-
Right before the department's general staff
meeting, a staff member deletes the one copy of the annual report he had
worked on for months.
-
End of the semester blues: The file for a student's
term paper is stored on her computer's hard drive. The drive becomes unusable,
and she is unable to turn in her paper on time.
Remember, make backup copies of work on a separate
disk (or tape) from the original on a regular basis.
