Protect your web work
Once a work is "fixed in tangible form"--once you have written it down, drawn it, typed it, recorded it or put it up on a web page--it is covered by copyright law.

A copyright notice on a web page reminds others the work is copyrighted and who owns the copyright. (For an official document: Copyright © 1998, University of Delaware. For a personal document: Copyright © 1998, Josephine A. Student.)

A copyright notice should be incorporated into any original graphic files placed on the web. The copyright notice then becomes part of the graphic.

The best way to protect your rights is to register your copyright with the U.S. Copyright Office.
