Printing Statistics in IT-managed Computing Sites

  • 2.3 million sheets of paper printed during the 2001 fall semester. That amount is an increase of almost 400,000 sheets from the fall of 2000.
  • 30% increase in costs of consumables from 1999-2000 and 2000-2001.
  • 6.2 million pages printed in 2001-2002.
  • Approximately 25% of the paper use was unnecessary (wasted).

The following graph depicts the changes in the cost of printing consumables from 1999-2000, 2000-2001, 2001-2002, and 2003-2003.

Note: The drop in spring of 2001-2002 coincides with the start of the PrintLess Program.

Consumable costs for 2002-2003 have returned to the 1999-2000 level.
