Webmail Direct: Forward Your E-Mail and Keep a Copy on UD E-mail

Forward your e-mail and keep a copy on UD e-mail

It is possible to forward your e-mail to another account and to keep a copy of the messages in your UD e-mail Inbox.

Important Information:

  • For this method to work, you must remove any forwarding that you've set up on the UDel Network page.
  • Forwarded mail is NOT secure once it leaves the University's mail server.

To forward your e-mail and keep a copy:

  1. Log in to Webmail Direct.
  2. On the Options Access Control menu bar, click Message Filters. You will see a window like the one below:

    message filter box

  3. In the "Filter Conditions" box, select Apply to all incoming messages.

  4. In the "Filter Actions" box, click the Forward to: option and type the e-mail address to which you want to forward your messages.
  5. In the "Filter Actions" box, uncheck the box next to Do not apply any more filters to this message if action is taken.
  6. Click OK. You should see the new filter you've created listed at the top of the page.

  7. In the "Filter Conditions" box, select Apply to all incoming messages.

  8. In the "Filter Actions" box, make sure Move to: has Inbox selected.
  9. Click OK.
  10. Look at the list of e-mail filters. The forwarding filter should be above the filter that moves mail to the Inbox.
