Address Books into Webmail Direct

To export an Address Book from Outlook Express:
- Open Outlook Express.
- On the File menu, click Export; then, click Address
Book.
- In the Address Book Export Tool window, select Text
File (Comma Separated Values).
- Click Export.
- In the CSV Export window, click Browse.
- From the Save In drop-down box, select Desktop; then
type a name in the File name field.
- Click Save; then click Next.
- In the CSV Export window, select the fields you wish to export
and clear the fields you do not wish to export. The most commonly exported
fields are name and e-mail address.
- Click Finish.
To import an Address Book from Outlook Express to Webmail Direct:
- Log in to Webmail Direct.
- On the menu bar, click Address Book.
- On the Address Book menu bar, click Import/Export. In
the Import/Export Address Book window:
- In the Select a file type to import drop-down box, select
.CSV.
- In the Specify the file to import field, click the Browse
button and select Desktop. Select the exported Address Book
file on the desktop and click Open.
- From the Import to Category drop-down box, select a category
if you wish. The default is unfiled. Leave the language and
charset values as they are. If you want Webmail Direct to check
for duplicate entries in your address book, uncheck the box next
to "Add all imported items to Address Book - without checking
any duplicates."
- Click the Import Now button. The Address Book Contacts
page redisplays, and you receive a message that the CSV file was
successfully imported.

To export an Address Book from Mozilla 1.x to Webmail Direct:
- Open Mozilla 1.x.
- On the menu bar, click Window; scroll down and click Address
book.
- On the Address Book menu bar, click Tools, scroll down
and click Export. You will see the Export Address Book
window.
- In the Save In box, select Desktop.
- In the File Name box, type a name for the file.
- In the Save As Type box, select LDIF (*.ldi,*.ldif).
- Click Save.
- Close the Address Book window.
- Close Mozilla.
To import an Address Book from Mozilla 1.x to Webmail Direct:
- Log in to Webmail Direct.
- On the menu bar, click Address Book.
- On the Address Book menu bar, click Import/Export. You
will see the Import/Export Address Book window:
- In the Select a file type to import drop-down box, select
.LDIF.
- In the Specify the file to import field, click the Browse
button and select Desktop. Select the exported Address Book
file on the desktop and click Open.
- From the Import to Category drop-down box, select a category
if you wish. The default is unfiled. Leave the language and
charset values as they are. If you want Webmail Direct to check
for duplicate entries in your address book, uncheck the box next
to "Add all imported items to Address Book - without checking

To export an Address Book from Netscape 7.x to Webmail Direct:
- Open Netscape 7.x.
- On the menu bar, click Window; scroll down and click Address
book.
- On the Address Book menu bar, click Tools, scroll down
and click Export. You will see the Export Address Book
window.
- In the Save In box, select Desktop.
- In the File Name box, type a name for the file.
- In the Save As Type box, select LDIF (*.ldi,*.ldif)

- Click Save.
- Close the Address Book window.
- Close Netscape.
To import an Address Book from Netscape 7.x to Webmail Direct:
- Log in to Webmail Direct.
- On the menu bar, click Address Book.
- On the Address Book menu bar, click Import/Export. You

- In the Select a file type to import drop-down box, select

Macintosh OS X address book
OS X (10.3 and later)
To export an OS X address book:
Address books must be exported from OS X in CSV (Comma separated
values) format in order to be imported into Webmail Direct.
- To export as CSV, you must first download the AddressBookToCSV
software from
http://homepage.mac.com/kenferry/software.html#AddressBookToCSV
by clicking the AddressBookToCSV v. 1.1,released 7/3/2004
link.
- Locate and double-click the downloaded AddressBookToCSV-1.1 volume
on your Mac:

- Locate and start the AddressBookToCSV application:

- In the window that opens, click the Export Address Book to CSV
link.

- From the Where: drop-down list, select Desktop and click
Save:

- Select Quit from the AddressBookToCSV menu.
To import an address book from OS X to Webmail Direct:
- In the Safari browser, log in to Webmail Direct.
- On the menu bar, click Address Book.
- On the Address Book menu bar, click Import/Export. You
will see the Import/Export Address Book window:
- In the Select a file type to import drop-down box, select
.CSV.
- In the Specify the file to import field, click the Choose
File button and select Desktop. Select the exported
address book file on the desktop and click Choose.
- From the Import to Category drop-down box, select a category
if you wish. The default is unfiled. Leave the language and
charset values as they are. If you want Webmail Direct to check
for duplicate entries in your address book, uncheck the box next
to "Add all imported items to Address Book - without checking
any duplicates."
- Click the Import Now button. The Address Book Contacts
page redisplays, and you receive a message that the CSV file was
successfully imported.

Pine e-mail address book
To export a Pine e-mail address book:
- Log in to your UDelNet account using the SSH Secure Shell application.
- At the % prompt, type
- cat $HOME/.addressbook | /opt/bin/pine2ldif >
pine.ldif
(Note: be sure to type an l (el) for ldif.)
- Press ENTER.
- Using the SSH Secure Shell File Transfer window, download the pine.ldif
file to the desktop of the computer on which you run your browser.
To import a Pine e-mail address book to Webmail Direct:
- Log in to Webmail Direct.
- On the menu bar, click Address Book.
- On the Address Book menu bar, click Import/Export. You
will see the Import/Export Address Book window:
- In the Select a file type to import drop-down box, select
.LDIF.
- In the Specify the file to import field, click the Browse
button and select Desktop. Select the pine.ldif Address
Book file on the desktop and click Open.
- From the Import to Category drop-down box, select a category
if you wish. The default is unfiled. Leave the language and
charset values as they are. If you want Webmail Direct to check
for duplicate entries in your address book, uncheck the box next
to "Add all imported items to Address Book - without checking
any duplicates."
- Click the Import Now button. The Address Book Contacts
page redisplays, and you receive a message that the LDIF file was
successfully imported.
Once you have imported the ".ldif" file to Webmail Direct, you may remove it from your desktop.
