Webmail Direct: Manage Folders

View a folder

To view a folder:

  1. On the Webmail Direct menu bar, click Folders. You will see a window with the list of folders.
  2. Click a folder name to see the messages it contains.

Add a new folder

To add a new folder, follow these steps:

  1. In the Folders window, next to Folder:, type the name of your new folder.
  2. Click Add. You will see the name of the new folder in the folder list.

Delete a folder

To delete a folder, follow these steps:

  1. In the Folders window, click the Delete icon delete icon for that folder. A confirmation page opens. You can choose to delete the folder or cancel the operation.
  2. Click Delete.

Subscribe to your deleted messages folder

In Webmail Direct, if you have set your "Delete to Trash" preferences to No, you can see and act on the messages you have recently deleted from your Inbox by subscribing to the deletedmessages folder.

Note: The deletedmessages folder has a much smaller quota than your usual e-mail quota. As the deletedmessages folder fills up, the oldest messages in it are removed by the system. To subscribe to and use the deletedmessages folder:

  1. On the Webmail Direct menu bar, click Folders. You will see a Folders window like the one below:

  2. Click the Shared link. You will see the Shared Folders window with a list of the folders to which you have permission to subscribe:

  3. In the Folder Name section, click the plus (+) sign next to deletedmessages to expand the folder then click the plus (+) sign next to user to see the name of your folder. Your personal deleted messages folder will have a check box beside it as in the window below.

  4. To subscribe to the folder, select the checkbox and click Subscribe. After the page refreshes, you will see the Subscribed icon subscribed icon next to the name of your folder.

Access your deleted messages folder

  1. On the Webmail Direct menu bar, click Folders.
  2. On the Folders page, click the Subscribed link. You will see the Subscribed Folders window with a list of the folders to which you are subscribed:

  3. In the Folder Name section, click the plus (+) sign next to deletedmessages to expand the folder then click the plus (+) sign next to user to see the name of your folder. Your personal deleted messages folder will have a check box beside it and will appear as a link as in the window below.

  4. Click the link to your folder. You will see the message window:

    Note that the name at the top of the folder window is deletedmessages.user.yourfoldername. What you can do with the messages depends upon the access permissions set by the folder owner.

    Note: If you reply to a message in a shared folder, the From address will be your own e-mail address. A copy of the message will go into your Sent Items folder if you have set that option.

Unsubscribe from your deleted messages folder

  1. On the Webmail Direct menu bar, click Folders. You will see the Folders page.
  2. On the Folders page, click the Subscribed link. You will see the Subscribed Folders page.
  3. In the list of folder names, click the plus (+) sign next to deletedmessages to expand the folder then click the plus (+) sign next to user to see the name of your folder. Select the check box next to your folder.
  4. Click Unsubscribe.
