How to decrease your Inbox disk space use
if you work with Webmail

The following instructions are written to help individuals who work with UD's Webmail use the application to reduce their Inbox disk space use.

General instructions for Webmail
  1. Log on to Webmail as you normally do.
  2. Click the Empty Trash link if it appears at the top of your screen.
  3. Click Options at the top of the screen.
  4. Under Mail Management, select Deleting and Moving Messages.
    1. The first box should have a checkmark.
    2. The second box should NOT have a checkmark.
    3. Click Save Options.
  5. When the Inbox message list is on the screen, click the word Size on the right-hand side of the screen. This action will list the messages by size—from the largest to the smallest.
  6. Delete any large messages that you don't need to keep. To delete messages from the folder list follow these steps:
    1. Click the box to the left of the message.
    2. Click Delete at the top of that column.
    3. Click Purge Deleted (the top right of the message list).
  7. Minimize the e-mail program window.
  8. Maximize the SSH window. Recheck your Inbox space use.
  9. If your Inbox disk usage is still too large, maximize the e-mail program window and remove (delete) more messages.
  10. Switch between the e-mail program window and the SSH window to remove (delete) files until your account is below 2MB.
  11. Close any windows you no longer need.
