My Pine Mail Inbox folder is locked or in read-only mode--What should I do?

If you receive a message that your Inbox folder is locked or in read-only mode, you probably have more than one open session of Pine. To solve the problem, do the following:

  1. Quit the Pine Mail program.

  2. At the UNIX prompt, type

    kill -9 -1

  3. Press ENTER.

You should now be able to start the Pine Mail program again and continue your work.
