How to Save Pine Mail Messages to a Folder


You can save messages to a folder in the following two ways:

  1. While you read the text of the message
  2. While you view its message header in the Message Index.
In either case, follow these steps to save the message:
  1. At the Main Menu screen press I.
  2. Press O for Other Commands.
  3. Press S for Save.

    At the bottom of the screen, you should see the following program prompt:

    Save Msg #1 to folder saved-messages
  4. Press ENTER to accept this folder. (Or if you have created other folders, type the name of the folder and then press ENTER.)

    At the bottom of the screen, you should see the following program message:

    Message __ copied to folder saved-messages and deleted

Note
As you use different features of the Pine Mail program, it will automatically prompt you to create the following three folders in your account:

When you save a message to a folder, the message will be automatically marked for deletion from your INBOX folder.
