How to Delete Messages
You can delete messages in the following two ways:
- While you read the text
of the message
- While you view its message
header in the Message
Index.
In either case, follow these steps:
- Press D to Delete the message.
At the bottom center
of the screen, you should see the following program message:
___ message marked for deletion
Messages you want to delete will be marked with a letter D
at the beginning of the message header on the Message Index
screen.
Messages you mark for deletion will be removed from the Message
Index screen when you quit the Pine Mail program or when you use
the expunge feature (press the X key).
How to Undelete Messages
Important Note
Before quitting the Pine Mail program, you can
undelete
a message by when either reading the message text or when its message
header is highlighted on the Message Index
screen.
In either case, follow these steps:
- Press U to Undelete the
message. You should see a screen similar to the following, indicating
that the message will not be deleted:
Messages you mark for deletion will be removed from the Message
Index screen when
you quit the Pine Mail program or when you use the
expunge feature
(press the X
key).
However, once you end
your Pine Mail session, you cannot undelete
a message.
