You can create an Address Book entry (similar to an "index
card" in a personal collection of addresses) that
contains one e-mail address or that contains more
than one
e-mail address (for more than one correspondent). An Address Book entry
that
contains more than one e-mail address is called a "mailing
list."
These instructions explain how to create an individual
address
book entry (in this case, for yourself).
Note: The text you type, appears simultaneously in both the
First Name text field and the Display Name field.
Again, as you type, the
text appears simultaneoulsy in both the Last Name field and
the Display Name field.
A nickname is a shorthand name for a specific correspondent. So rather
than type "josephinejones@udel.edu," you could create the
nickname
"josie." Then, when you want to send a message to her, you
would only need to type "josie" in the To text field.
If
you want to create
a nickname for your entry, type it in this field.
These instructions explain how to send a new message to yourself using
the Address Book entry
you
created in the previous instructions.

Checking and modifying a mailing list
You can check the e-mail addresses that are in a mailing list when
you are not sending a message and modify (add or delete an e-mail
address) the list accordingly. Or you can check the e-mail addresses
in a list and modify it while you compose
a message.
