How do I check my Mozilla Mail account settings

  1. From the Edit Menu, click Mail & Newsgroups Account Settings.
  • The Account Name field should contain the following:

    UDelNet_ID@udel.edu

  • The Your Name field should contain your name (e.g., Jane Doe).
  • The Email Address field should contain your UDelNet_ID followed by @udel.edu (e.g., jane@udel.edu).
  • The Organization field should contain University of Delaware.
  1. Click Server Settings in the left column.
  • The Server Type field should contain IMAP Mail Server (Note: If you want to use a POP Mail Server, you need to set up a new account).
  • The Server Name field should contain mail.udel.edu.
  • The Server Settings should be as follows:
    • [checked] Use secure connection (SSL)
    • [unchecked] Use secure authentication
    • [checked] Check for new messages at startup
    • [checked] Check for new messages every 10 minutes
    • When I delete messages [Mark it as deleted] (from the drop-down arrow)
    • [checked] Cleanup ("Expunge") Inbox on Exit
    • [checked] Empty Trash on Exit
  1. Click Outgoing Server (SMTP) in left column.
  • The Server Name field should contain mail.udel.edu
  1. Configure the LDAP server (which allows you to search for addresses at the University automatically) by following these directions.
