| What and where is my Mozilla profile? To the Mozilla program, your profile folder is your "identity." It contains your bookmark file, mail and news files, local mail, account settings, stored passwords, personal address book, and preferences. Different Windows operating systems save your profile folder in different locations on your computer. In general, the following directory path is where you can find your profile folder:
How to backup your profile on a Windows 2000/XP system Your bookmark file, local mail, and personal address book are stored on your desktop computer. If your hard drive crashes or your profile becomes corrupted, these files may be overwritten or lost. You can prevent data loss by properly backing up your Mozilla profile folder. Note If your system is not currently set to view all files, you can use Windows Explorer to enable this option.
