These directions are for users of Netscape 7.0, 7.1, and 7.2 on a Windows computer. You'll check to be sure that mail.udel.edu is set as your e-mail server and, if necessary, correct the IMAP folder path for e-mail stored on the University's server.

  1. Open Netscape 7.x Mail & Newsgroups.
  2. From the Edit menu, select Mail & Newsgroup Account Settings.
  3. In the left-hand window pane, select Server Settings. Make sure that the Server Name in the right-hand window pane is set to
    mail.udel.edu

If you have it set to "udel.edu" or "copland.udel.edu," change it to
    mail.udel.edu

  4. If you have Netscape configured for POP access to mail.udel.edu, skip steps 4-6 and go directly to step 7 below. If you aren't sure, note the text after Server Type: in the right hand pane of the "Mail & Newsgroup Account Settings" window: it will either be IMAP Mail Server or POP Mail Server. If it says POP Mail Server, skip to step 7 below.

  5. Click the Advanced button.
  6. In the Advanced IMAP Server Settings pop-up window, make sure that the text box next to IMAP server directory: is blank. Erase any text (for example, "mail/") from this text box.

Make sure that the first box at the top, "Show only subscribed folders," is not checked.

  7. Click OK in the Advanced IMAP Server Settings pop-up window.
  8. In the left-hand pane of the Mail & Newsgroups Account Settings window, select Outgoing Server (SMTP). Make sure that the server name in the right-hand window pane is set to
    mail.udel.edu

If you have it set to "udel.edu" or "copland.udel.edu," change it to
    mail.udel.edu

  9. Click OK.
  10. Restart Netscape 7.x.
