Open MacOS X mail as usual.
-
From the Mail menu at the top of the screen,
select Preferences,
then select Accounts.
If you have more than one account, make sure that your udel.edu
account is highlighted in the Accounts window pane.
-
In
the Account Information window pane, make sure that mail.udel.edu
is the Incoming Mail Server. If it's not, then select
and replace the incorrect information by typing
mail.udel.edu in the Incoming Mail Server text box.
-
If the Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP) is not listed as
mail.udel.edu, you need to change it.
Click on the name of the listed outgoing mail server
to expand the list of servers. If mail.udel.edu is on the list,
highlight it to make it the outbound server your account will
try first.
If mail.udel.edu is not listed, select Add Server.
Type mail.udel.edu
in the SMTP Server Options dialog box.
If it's not
selected, select Use Secure Sockets Layer (SSL). Leave
authentication set to none.
Click OK.
-
In the main Accounts window, select the Advanced
tab. Make sure the IMAP Path Prefix: text box is blank.
Also, make sure that Use SSL is selected.
-
Close the preferences window. If you made any changes, you will
see the Save Changes dialog box. Click Save.
