The University of Delaware is in the process of moving its mail
service from "the composers" (Copland and Strauss) to a new
system
from Mirapoint, Inc.
Mirapoint's e-mail system provides
- more efficient mail delivery
- more space for stored e-mail (and larger disk quotas)
- integrated junk mail and anti-virus support
- better reliability.
What changes will users need to make?
We are developing directions for the
most-commonly-used
e-mail programs. In general, here are the changes users need
to make:
- Make sure that mail.udel.edu is the incoming and
outbound e-mail server.
- If necessary, remove "mail/" from the IMAP folder path.
- Learn how to use
Mirapoint Webmail Direct. Even if you use
another program to read your e-mail, you can use Webmail Direct
to perform tasks such as monitoring your e-mail
disk quota, setting a "vacation" message,
and managing your junk mail.
