Using VPN at UD

The University of Delaware allows faculty, staff and students to use UD's Virtual Private Network (VPN) to log into resources usually restricted to on-campus use. Faculty, staff and students whose work requires access to restricted resources while working off campus will find VPN to be a useful resource.

The University's VPN system currently assigns connections an IP number in the following subnet range:

10.7.65.0 through 10.7.79.224.

If you wish to allow VPN access to a server to which you ordinarily limit access to the University's network, you will need to open access to this range of IP numbers.

In addition, if you restrict access to some of your resources to specific IP addresses, you can request a small subnet of the UD VPN IP numbers for your department's use. To do so, submit a Help Center Trouble Ticket to IT-NSS requesting this service. Note: make sure that your request indicates the justification clearly. Due to the limited number of IP addresses available, not all requests will be approved.
