She Stoops to Conquer
By Oliver Goldsmith
Presented by the Resident Ensemble Players,
Thompson Theatre, Roselle Center for the Arts
An uproariously funny comedy of confusion! Marlow, bashful around women of his own class - yet quite frisky amongst the serving girls - is on his way to the Hardcastle household to court Kate, the daughter of the county house. When Marlow and his friend Hastings mistake the home for an inn and the owner and his daughter for an inn keeper and wench, hilarity ensues as Kate plays a saucy servant in order to conquer her beloved in this rollicking romp of a romance.
