The real wonder ... is how real the actor makes the 30 characters he portrays and sustains real dialogue between the characters when he forms the entire cast.

Welcome to the
Resident Ensemble Players (REP)
and the
Professional Theatre Training Program (PTTP)
The University of Delaware Resident Ensemble Players/Professional Theatre Training Program is a powerful and unique marriage of a resident professional acting company and a conservatory training program. Operating like two sides of a single coin, the PTTP and the REP are each distinctive aspects of one artistic mission that manifests itself in a theatre organization that is greater than the sum of its parts.
The REP/PTTP is devoted to the live theatre, where human, rather than electronic, energy is the medium of communication. REP/PTTP provides UD students, faculty, staff, and the surrounding community with regular offerings of outstanding professional productions of a wide variety of classic, modern, and contemporary plays that are or could be studied in the University curriculum, with a particular emphasis on the great plays of our dramatic heritage.
The REP company is composed of some of America's most experienced and respected regional theatre actors and actresses who are contracted for a four year period of residency that commences with the beginning of each PTTP training cycle. PTTP students are selected and admitted once every four years for three years of conservatory training leading to the Master of Fine Arts degree. Students are trained in one of three areas: Acting, Stage Management, or Technical Production. PTTP students are carefully selected through extensive auditions and interviews conducted throughout the United States in the year between the graduation of one class and the beginning of the next class.
In addition to the PTTP graduate program and the REP professional theatre, the Department of Theatre offers three undergraduate minors, in Theatre Studies, Performance, and Technical Production.

UD PLAYERS ARE PHYSICAL, FUNNY IN UPDATED MOLIERE'S 'INVALID'
The 10-member cast revels in the broad physical comedy as well as the shameless puns, off-color jibes and wonderfully silly character names. Director Sanford Robbins makes fine use of a versatile ensemble and concocts a wickedly funny evening's work.
