UD's Sustainability Task Force stimulates networking; educates the University community; raises awareness of existing practices at the University; and encourages education, research, service, and operations to build a more sustainable community.
Integrating Sustainability into Higher Education
The University of Delaware’s Sustainability Task Force presents the inaugural Mid-Atlantic Regional Institute on Sustainability in Higher Education as part of its ongoing commitment to sustainability. Faculty, staff and students from regional higher educations institutions are invited to attend and present.
WHAT YOU GET.
The Institute is structured to foster collaboration and forward-thinking, forward-moving partnerships among regional colleges and universities. The Institute will feature keynote speaker Debra Rowe, President of the U.S. Partnership for Education for Sustainable Development, who will also be available throughout the day for consultation.
WHY IT'S UNIQUE.
Attendance is capped, and multiple full-group session with facilitated discussions will be held. The sessions are designed to engender lasting partnerships with individuals who share goals and interests.
The breakout and poster sessions will feautre campus sustainability initiatives by students, faculty and staff. The Institute offers a forum for sustainability-minded individuals and groups across and within campuss to share ideas, goals, successes and failures.
HOW YOU CAN CONTRIBUTE.
Institutions within an approximate 100-mile radius of UD are invited to participate by attending and/or presenting a paper or poster related to sustainability in curricula, facilities, housing, student life, outreach and more. UD students, faculty, and staff are highly encouraged to attend and present.
Submit a proposal form (Word doc) to give an oral presentation or display a poster.
