Your portal to sustainability-related activities overseen by UD's Sustainability Task Force
The Challenge
Formed in the Fall of 2007 with support from UD's Academic and Student Affairs Council, the Task Force is a group of UD faculty, staff, and students charged with making the University more sustainable. More than 60 members serve on the Executive Council and associated working groups.
THE ANSWER
Anyone at UD is welcome to volunteer - if you are interested, please email us at ud-sustainability@udel.edu.
The Task Force currently has seven committees:
- The Executive Council
- The Campus Sustainability Day Working Group
- The Sustainability Fund Working Group
- The Green Liaisons Working Group
- The Earth Week Working Group
- The Marketing and Communications Working Group
- Regional Sustainability Institute Planning Working Group
- Coming for 2012-13: Sustainability Policy Working Group
A catalyst for sustainability at UD
The Task Force stimulates networking; educates the University community; raises awareness of existing practices at the University; and encourages education, research, service, and operations to build a more sustainable community.
Small steps = big impact
In order to reduce our carbon footprint and achieve our Climate Action Plan goals, we must educate ourselves and our community and change our daily habits and practices.
From individuals to student groups, departments, colleges, and administrative units, our small steps create a significant, collective impact.
We hope that you will use this site as an avenue to involvement.
Explore the site, get involved, let us know what ideas you have, and be proud that you are contributing to UD's Initiative for the Planet.
