The University of Delaware will celebrate Earth Day 2009 with the release of UD's Climate Action Plan. The plan outlines the University's forthcoming short- and long-term efforts to reduce its carbon emissions output, which was documented in UD's 2008 Carbon Footprint Inventory, the first-ever accounting of campus-wide carbon emissions.
During the Earth Day event, Dr. John Byrne, director of UD's Center for Energy and Environmental Policy, will update findings from the Carbon Footprint Inventory, and Acting Regional EPA Administrator William C. Early will discuss U.S. environmental policy.
