2008 Summer Sessions Registration Information
The Free Drop/Add period for the Second Session ends Thursday, July 17.
Withdrawals from Second Session classes after that date will leave
tuition committed and non-refundable.
Registration on the Web (beginning April 7).
Online registration requires that you have established your
UD Student Record and know your logon credentials:
either

... or ... UDelnet-ID + password.
If you are unsure of your logon credentials,
try them out now by logging on to
UDSIS,
and viewing your "Student Center" pages.
If you know those credentials now, you can log on directly to the
UDSIS,

- If you have not already established a UD student

Fill it out and fax it to (302) 831-4913, then phone
(302) 831-8843 or (800) 597-1444 from out of state. Staff at that number can confirm receipt of your form.

perform future registration changes and view your class schedule, grades, and more online.
- If you have had a UD Student-ID and/or UDelNet-ID before but don't
remember your logon credentials, and if you are local to the Newark
campus, please go to the Registrar's Office in the Student Services

or downloaded in pdf format.
For all registrations except "UD-online Worksite" ones, use:
this form.
Nonresident students who wish to take Distance Learning classes and
who qualify for the
"Site Tuition Rate"
should use this
Site Registration/payment form instead.
Mail-in requests must be accompanied by your full payment
and a Fee Payment Form. These should be received at the address on the
form by:
- May 23 for First Session (5 and 7-1/2 weeks)
- June 27 for Second (5-week) Session.
NOTE WHEN FAXING:
After faxing to (302) 831-4913, you can also call to confirm receipt of your forms at
(302) 831-8843 or (800) 597-1444 from out of state.
Your Summer course schedule will be constantly available online in your
UDSIS Student Center page:
Academics / Enrollment / "My Class Schedule".
Each time you log on to UDSIS registration functions, your actual schedule will be
displayed to you, and each time you make a change, its effect will be shown in an updated
schedule in real-time. No paper schedules will be mailed.
If you have any doubt about your schedule and cannot logon,
you should go to the Student Services Building on Lovett Avenue.
Continuing Education students can come to any of the
registration sites listed above.
- First Session (5 and 7-1/2 weeks) - June 9 - 12
- Second (5-week) Session - July 14 - 17
You can register or change your registration at any of the locations above or via
UDSIS
at campus kiosks or any computer on the Internet. If a course is closed or restricted,
you will need to obtain the instructor's permission on a form obtained at the
Student Services Building or the ACCESS Centers at Newark or Georgetown.
After the Free Drop/Add Period
(No tuition rebates)
When you withdraw from a course after the Free
Drop/Add Period, a grade of "W" is posted to your academic record and
tuition is charged and not refundable. All courses added after the Free
Drop/Add period require permission of the dean of the student's college.
In addition, a $20 fee is charged for a change of registration at this
time.
- The deadlines for withdrawing from courses without
academic penalty are:
- First Session, 5-week classes . . . . . . June 26
- First Session, 7-1/2 week classes . . . July 1
- Second Session . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . July 31
Any changes after these dates require the approval of the dean of
the student's college. The dean will permit you to withdraw from courses
only for unusual circumstances beyond a student's control and not for
reasons of academic performance. The Dean's approval does not alleviate
the financial obligation incurred by a late withdrawal - that full tuition is charged
in addition to a $20 fee for late changes of registration.
Students may take up to seven credits during each session. Higher credit
loads require the permission of the student's dean, or for students not in
a University of Delaware degree program, the permission of an ACCESS
counselor (302) 831-2741.
Students wishing to attend class but not do all the required work or
receive credit may register as "auditors". Tuition and registration are the
same for auditor status as for registration for credit.
Undergraduate and CEND students are permitted to take one free "elective"
course on a pass/fail basis each semester. The total credits taken on this
basis may not exceed 24 in the baccalaureate degree program. A student
registered for a course which is offered and graded "pass/fail only" may still
take another course on a pass/fail basis as a "free elective". Students are
encouraged to consult with their advisors in the selection of courses to be
taken under this option, as the use of free electives varies from college to
college.
A student may not add a course with a pass/fail option beyond the course
load permitted for his classification. Changes in the pass/fail grade status
will be handled as changes in registration.
The instructor will give a letter grade for the student who has selected
the pass/fail option. Grades between A and D- will be recorded on the report of
grades and on the official transcript as a P. An F will be recorded as an F.
A grade of F will count in the cumulative index; a P will not.
