Location, location, locationA beautiful campus in an ideal mid-Atlantic location
Connections to major metropolitan areas are made easily on trains leaving regularly from nearby Wilmington. Interstate 95 is less than a one-mile drive from campus for convenient travel throughout the region. To the north, Philadelphia is less than an hour away and New York City is just about two hours. To the south, Baltimore is one hour and Washington, DC, is two hours. In fact, many professors take advantage of Delaware's setting to take their classes on field excursions in the region. There is plenty to do in the University of Delaware's vicinity. Study on a bench in one of the lush green areas on campus or have a beverage in one of the many local coffeehouses or restaurants that line nearby Main STreet. Newark and Wilmington offer a rich variety of cultural entertainment activities to enjoy with other members of the active student body in the School of Urban Affairs and Public Policy. Get away to the Delaware beaches, watch the Fightin' Blue Hens on the football field and basketball court, stroll Longwood Gardens, or enjoy a cheese steak in Philadelphia. There is something for everyone.
