Activities and Support

Helping graduate students grow and succeed

There are a variety of activities for students and sources of support. Current students should watch for emails and postings announcing group meetings.

UASA--the Urban Affairs Student Association

The UASA offers social and professional development activities such as the annual friends and families picnic, and happy hours. The UASA also offers representation to the administration during faculty meetings.

Thesis and dissertation group

Students discuss the challenges of writing theses and dissertations and share resources.

Ph.D. students have the opportunity to meet as a group with faculty to navigate the road to successful research.

Advisors

All students are assigned faculty academic advisors from whom to seek academic and career advice. In addition, research assistants have a research assistantship supervisor who can also be an excellent resource. Course instructors are also eager to provide help when possible.
