Core Curriculum (9 credits)
Take two of the following three proseminars for a total of 6 credits:
UAPP 821 Proseminar in Technology, Environment & Society (3 cr)
UAPP 822 Proseminar in Governance, Planning, & Management (3 cr)
UAPP 823 Proseminar in Social & Urban Policy (3 cr)
Take the following course in Epistemology for a total of 3 credits:
UAPP 801 Processes of Social Inquiry (3 cr)

Research Design and Methods Requirements (minimum of 3 credits) Upon admission, student expected to have competency in statistics at the level of UAPP 815 Public Management Statistics. Must take UAPP 800 Research Design & Methodologies (4 cr) and three additional credits in advanced social statistics, such as UAPP 816 Advanced Social Statistics. |

Comprehensive Examination After at least two semsters of study, student must pass an examination that tests knowledge of subject matter covered in the two proseminars ( UAPP 821, 822, 823 ) taken by student. |
