High quality academic programs

BS in Leadership | MA in UAPP | MPA | PhD in UAPP

The School of Urban Affairs and Public Policy at the University of Delaware currently offers and undergraduate degree in Leadership and three graduate degree programs. Each graduate program then offers several specializations or concentrations so you can tailor your program to be exactly how you want to make a real difference.

BS in Leadership

The Leadership program (LEAD) encourages students to blend their knowledge of leadership, consumer behavior and consumer policy with a personal system of values and ethics to mobilize change. Students are educated to provide leadership for socially responsible strategies, programs and polices that improve the quality of life and minimize harmful effects on consumers.

Master's of Arts (MA) in Urban Affairs and Public Policy

Ranked by US News and World Report among the top ten programs in urban policy/city management, the Master of Arts in Urban Affairs and Public Policy program is broad-based and flexible, allowing students to pursue a wide range of planning, policy, and research issues affecting the public and nonprofit sectors.

Master's of Public Administration (MPA)

Our NASPAA-accredited Master of Public Administration program is ranked in the top 15% by US News and World Report and offers solid preparation for graduates to succeed in challenging professional careers in government and nonprofit administration and management.

How do I decide between the MA and MPA programs?

We have created a chart (in .pdf format) to help compare and contrast the two programs.

PhD in Urban Affairs and Public Policy

The Ph.D. in Urban Affairs and Public Policy program, one of the oldest in the nation, is research oriented and renowned for its interdisciplinary approach to policy analysis.
