Research and Writing

Resources to help you succeed

While a graduate student at the University of Delaware you will have many opportunities to hone your research and writing skills. The School and the University offer many resources to help you succeed.

Research

Faculty can provide many resources to help students with research. Check with your advisor, professors, or research assistantship supervisor. Also, you can consult the list of faculty professional affiliations and recommended journals and books.

The School of Urban Affairs and Public Policy has a liaison in the library. Check out the library subject guide for the School of Urban Affairs and Public Policy or contact Michael Gutierrez, Senior Assistant Librarian.

New Visions for Public Affairs student journal

Consider submitting your latest research or project work in New Visions for Public Affairs, the student-led journal!

Writing

The Writing Center offers individual and small group instruction, including assistance with punctuation, grammar, organization, style, and documentation. They even operate a grammar hotline (phone number is 302-831-1890). Their website offers some pointers about documentation in the MLA and APA style. The Writing Center also suggests these resources for further information.

UD's Writing Initiative offers links to more online resources for help with your writing.
