Director's Welcome

Greetings!

I am delighted to welcome you to the School of Urban Affairs and Public Policy at the University of Delaware, the School known for integrating academic excellence with professional experience!

Our academic programs provide a stimulating intellectual environment while preparing students for a variety of positions in the public and nonprofit sectors. Few institutions rival our quality graduate and undergraduate programs coupled with unique opportunities for professional development. In fact, the School is the proud recipient of the 2007 American Public Human Services Association Academic Excellence Award for the contributions our alums are making to the field.

Built on the intellectual foundations of urban affairs and public administration, the School’s graduate programs offers an MA, MPA, and a PhD, rooted in applied research and public service. Hallmarks of the School’s strong commitment to practical experience include paid research assistantships, teaching assistantships, and internship placements.

The School of Urban Affairs and Public Policy is also home to an undergraduate program in Leadership. This program challenges students to make a difference in a variety of disciplines, sectors, and careers.

Recognizing the need for international experiences, the School facilitates faculty and student exchanges and organized study abroad trips to exciting destinations throughout the world for undergraduate and graduate students.
