Advice for a new student:
Don't be afraid to reinvent yourself in college! You have a security blanket over you now for the next 4 years. Try things here you may have the opportunity to once you graduate. Go to an interest meeting, go through recruitment, apply for the job. You never know what you might discover about yourself.
Advice for their parents:
Know what your student is up to! Meaning: know when they have an exam so you can send a "good luck" text. Kknow they went to an interest meeting so you can ask about how they liked it. Know they might be going out Saturday night so you can give them a quick call to say, "I won't bother you later, just be safe and have fun!"
How I decided on my major:
I knew I was never interested in math or science, only talking to people. Communications allowed me to have freedom in my schedule and to take classes unlike anything I had taken before.
