Name:
Paige Gugerty
Year:
Junior
Major:
Organizational and Community Leadership
Hometown:
Wilmington, DE
Hobbies:
Running, hiking, and baking.
Most exciting UD memory:
Adjusting to UD freshman year and meeting all of my good friends. Also, leading Summit last August, and hiking in the Adirondacks with the Outing Club officers.
Why I chose Delaware:
I chose Delaware for the beautiful campus, the Honors program, and the manageable size. I did not realize I would find the perfect major or that most of my friends would be from out of state, which only made me happier with my choice to be a Blue Hen.
How I decided on my major:
I came in as a Psychology major and needed something broader. I switched into the Leadership major spring semester of my freshman year and never looked back. My coursework is a great mix of business, social sciences, and leadership classes that are always applicable to the real world. I feel like I am constantly learning about how to challenge myself, how to influence others, and make a difference in the world.
Favorite TV show:
Scrubs.
Favorite song:
"Kodachrome" by Paul Simon.
Plans after college:
Gain some real life experience and never stop learning. I am interested in working for Outward Bound or NOLS someday, either as an instructor or on the administrative side. I also hope to work in the public health field and maybe go to graduate school for a Master;s degree or Ph.D sometime down the road.
Interesting fact:
My roommate Sarah and I have the same birthday in the same year and may have been born in the same hospital, even though we grew up in towns 500 miles apart.
