Advice for a new student:

The best piece of advice I could extend to a new student is to keep an open mind and to get involved.  Regarding your college experience, you get what you give.   Immerse yourself fully into the atmosphere and really utilize the resources that Delaware has to offer so then the transition and your overall experience will be nothing but positive!

Advice for their parents:

To parents: BREATHE! They are in good hands, I promise!  It’s good to remember that college is the first day of the rest of their lives and is a step in the right direction.  Just have trust and faith that your student will find success and keep in mind that mistakes are inevitable.  It’s all a part of the learning process.

How I decided on my major:

I came into the University of Delaware declared as a Cognitive Science major.  After a semester in the major, I decided to declare my concentration to be Speech Pathology. I always knew I wanted to be in a field where I could work with children and help people and this was the perfect fit.
